How They Met
They met in May of 1999 at Emily's wedding to Charlie Robison. Adrian had to make a phone call. "I was on my way to the wedding, driving my truck and it broke down in Benson, Arizona. I was late and I didn't make the rehearsal dinner," he reports. Adrian and Natalie were assigned to walk down the aisle together during the wedding. Because of that, he was dubbed the last groomsman and paired with the first bridesmaid whom was Natalie. "The first thing I said to him was 'We missed you last night'," Natalie said. She then grabbed his arm and said, "You are late. You were supposed to be here yesterday." ... As he tried to explain, the two started smiling and "we haven't been apart since."
The Big Day
The Dixie Chicks performed a sold-out show at Las Vegas' Thomas and Mack Arena on the FLY Tour. Forty-five minutes after the show, with only a photographer and security guard in attendance, the couple were married by "Pastor Ann" at a simple midnight, candlelit, traditional music ceremony at Las Vegas' famed "A Little White Wedding Chapel." They had planned it 2 weeks in advance. His parents and Natalie's parents knew about it because Adrian asked them for Natalie's hand in marriage. Emily and Martie knew a few days in advance. Natalie's stylist helped her get Adrian's ring and a one-of-a-kind vintage champagne-tinted gown of Austrian crystals, designed by Giorgio di Saint Angelo. The groom wore a steel grey Prada suit with black ruffled Gucci shirt. Despite the quickie wedding, Adrian and Natalie took their vows very seriously. Following the ceremony, the happy couple purchased chapel T-shirts with purple hearts. After the wedding they went to Mandalay casino and played blackjack and roulette and won $740.
