Columbus, Ohio 7-23-06 Accidents & Accusations Tour

I went to the columbus show last night and it was amazing!!!! It was my early 18th birthday present from my mom to go to the concert and we had 2nd row, floor, center seats closest to the stage!!
Ok to start off we go to the arena around 4:30 5ish. B/c I always like to walk around the arena before the show to see if there's radio stations setting up or to see if I can find the buses or get a glimpse of the Chicks. The buses were parked by the back stage door in this fenced off area and there was a little bridge you could look over, The buses were in plain sight. Me and my mom met this lady that was standing on the bridge trying to see if she could get a glimpse of the chicks and she said she thought she saw Natalie, but later on we were waiting and we see a tour bus door open and out comes Emily. About 10 minutes later out comes Martie from the same tour bus w/one of her daughters, then a little later this vehicle (I'm not gonna say what it was b/c I don't think the chicks would want to let every1 know it) pulls up and out comes Natalie in a ballcap w/sunglasses on and her son Slade. She went to her bus then came back out to go inside, I also saw the guy from the MSN blog thing get out with her and Slade. After i saw all 3 chicks go inside, we decided to walk around the arena again, there was 1 radio station set up, not even on the arena property, b/c the chicks or the venue something i forget, won't let them set up on the property b/c its too much controversy I think thats what the radio people said. And then we saw at the front of the arena some ppl standing w/ an American flag w/a peace sign on it, at first i couldn't tell if they were with the chicks or not but then one guy turned around and his sign said "Dixie Chicks rule!" and there were ppl driving by honking their horns!! :) Then later we see the MSN blog guy Janichi or Junichi is his name right? i think, but anyways we say hi and talk to him for a little while and he said that Martie and Natalie took their kids to the Columbus zoo but they took their kids at different times they didn't go together. And he said that the Pittsburgh fans weren't all that excited, then he asked to take a picture of us for the site and so we got our picture takin, and told him we'd see him inside b/c we had 2nd row seats. There were'nt many people that recognized him, except us and and one other group of people that was it and then inside the arena a ton of people recognized him and like a swarm of fans surrounded him and wanted their pictures taken w/him. We saw him in the arena and talked to him again Then the opening act Anna Nalik came on and she was pretty good. After that the arena was pretty close to full and the stage was so close to us it was so awesome!! The people around us were awesome too!
The Chicks came on around..i dunno what time...i wasn't payin attention to the time, i just wanted to see them come on and i couldn't wait! They came on w/ Lubbock or Leave it and from then on the fans would not be quiet for one second, every time Natalie would try to talk between songs everyone would be yelling for a long time and she said "next time we go on tour, someone need to tell us to start here!" and everyone went crazy at that!!! She also said that the Pittsburgh fans weren't singers and weren't much fu...nAnd she said thank you like at the end of every song, she had the biggest smile on her face and Natalie, Martie, and Emily kept smiling at each other and looking at each other!!! It was awesome!! Then at another point in the show she said sumthing aroung the lines of "for all the dates at venues where people don't want to buy tickets and the tickets don't sell, we'll come back here!!" she looked at Emily and smiled after she said that, Everyone loved it!! The crowd was amazing and so were the Chicks!! I loved everything about the concert, every song!! I loved how it was all about the music!! I stood when the Chicks first came out and never sat down!! I think the whole arena was standing for most of the concert!! Natalie threw some picks in the middle of the show and I caught 2 of them (well my mom caught one and I caught one!)
The Chicks still know how to make music and put on a show that's for sure!! And anyone who has anything against the Chicks is missing something truely amazing!! After the show I talked to Janichi(?) and we asked him how he thought the show was and he said we were way better then the Pittsburgh fans and the best fans yet!!! YEAH!! Too bad it's the only Ohio show the Chicks r doing...I live closer to Cleveland and drove almost 3 hours to get to Columbus to see the Chicks,2003 i went to the Cleveland show and it was amazing also! (I had 3rd row floor seats for that concert and i sang karoake for the lipton thing and got put on the big screen in the arena before the chicks came on! ) I still wish they would come to Cleveland this tour, but I still got to see the chicks! Columbus (and OHIO) sure know how to rock it out!! Welcome back Chicks I think you got what you deserve at the Columbus show, non-stop yelling, singing, and cheering you on!! I hope the Chicks loved it (it looked like it on their faces that they did!) :) B/c I know the Columbus fans did!! Chicks still ROCK and ROLL!

It was June 25th, I was working until 3:30 PM. When I got off of work, I headed straight to the MCI Center because my radio station, 98.7 WMZQ was throwing a Dixie Chicks Post Concert Party. The party was wonderful and enjoyable. The radio station were giving away prizes by giving fans trivia and name this song!!!!!!!!!!! It lasted until like 8 PM or a little after 8 PM.
There were production teams that was giving away Chicken Coop passes. The 25th was a bit tricky but on the 26th, I managed to get a pass. They played Bruce Springsteen's song "Born In The USA" when the lights went out and Chicks started performing their first song "Goodbye Earl."

June 25th & 26th

I can't remember what time it was; I think it was after 9 when the Chicks came on. I didn't approve much of Natalie's hair, the outfits were OK but I enjoyed myself, danced and singing along. I can't see how they could wear those high-heels!!!!!!! Emily on the banjo, Martie on the Fiddle, and Natalie playing the Guitar and dancing a bit!!!!!!!!

June 25th

I didn't manage to get Chicken Coop passes but I had a Floor Seat; Section 4, Row H, Seat 6. The Chicks came on and was performing all around the stage. It was wonderful! During "Hello Mr. Heartache," Natalie & Martie did a dance I forgot what it was called but they danced to it well!!!!!

June 26th

I managed to get a Chicken Coop pass. The fans were going mad including myself but I managed to maintain myself. The fans (including myself) were escorted to the stage. I had fun in front of the stage, a bit over-crowded and it was stuffy in the stadium. I wondered if they cut the A/C on the stadium or not? I enjoyed being in the Chicken Coop but my desire came true when Martie came to me and shook my hand during "Wide Open Spaces." It was a night to remember!!!!!!!

I love the Dixie Chicks and they will always be #1 to me!!!!!!!!!!
D.C. welcomed them, and I am so glad the concert was a success!!!!!!!!!!

It started off at 1:30pm when I went to my boyfriend's house. I showed him the signs I made for the concert, showing our love for our radio station and the Chicks. They said "We Love Y105 & the Dixie Chicks." We did this because there was a competition of whoever was dressed up the best about loving the local radio station, they will win better seats.
At 2:00pm we went to the venue and met one of the Y105 DJs. Then we went behind the venue where the busses were and met the coolest girls. My friend's stepdad saw me by the busses and he was working the venue. He found a Dixie Chicks guitar pick and gave it to me. We sat there for a while until some Event Staff guys were walking around. A nice guy named Louis came up to us and ask if he could interview us for a documentary they are making. Of course we said yes and he asked us questions about Canada and the Chicks. Very cool. Then he told us he could probably get us Chicken Coop seats (the seats surrounded by the stage). Very exciting!
Afterwards, some workers were playing football so the four of us joined in and one guy told us he could guarantee us Coop seats. The problem was there was 7 of us and he brought 4, and gave them to the only people that talked to him (he didn't realize there was more). So I got one, as did 3 other girls. Unfortunately my boyfriend never got any.
It was now 7pm and I just spent 35$ on a t-shirt. The doors opened!! I went to my original seats (first row in the hundreds) and talked to some workers. They told me I had to wait somewhere to be let into the Coop. It was hard, but I left my boyfriend alone... and he watched the show without me the whole night... but I had to.
I was waiting forever for them to organize all of the Coops. I missed Jann Arden (the opener) because we waited in the lobby. Then.... THEY LET US IN! Screaming was all I could hear. I quickly made friends with some people in the coop so it worked out great. When the Chicks were about to come on, we walked into our coop, I was TOUCHING the stage! A lot of people in the audience were waving at us and my boyfriend took a picture from where he was and you can just barely see me by the stage. One thing that was really neat was the WHOLE venue was doing the wave right before the Chicks came out. You'd think we were at a hockey game or something. The Chicks came on.... my ear drum popped after the 2nd song, it was so loud and absolutely wild. But the show was AMAZING. But the excitement isn't over yet. There was a pregnant girl beside me and all of a sudden during Landslide, she fainted! It was very scary.... something to do with being pregnant. She did recover, but didn't go back to the coop until the end of the night. Luckily she had her best friend with her.
The Dixie Chicks were amazing! Surprisingly they barely spoke to the audience, but they played awesome. During "Hello, Mr. Heartache" Natalie and Emily danced together which was very hilarious. "Top Of The World" was my favourite, and the video for it was amazing. During the song a lot of us in the coop went arm in arm and sang every word as loud as we could. For the encore I think I was staring at Emily when I looked behind me and Martie was right in front of me sticking out her hand to shake it, that was pretty neat! All of them sounded wonderful, it went by so fast. I wish it never ended. And when the show was over some worker gave me two of Natalie's picks, after I asked him of course. The concert was the best concert I've been to, and I've been to a lot. They sounded great and looked fantastic. Being in the coop was wild, you're just SO close! Everything went perfect, except for meeting them of course, but that will come one day.

I made it to the concert in time to see Michelle Branch perform and I was very impressed with this young lady. I'm not really into rock, but she was very good. I think the Chicks made a good choice for their opening act.
The Chicks came on around 9:10 PM and didn't get off til 11:10 PM. It was a sold out crowd of about 25-30 thousand people. Everyone there seemed to know every word to every song they did as we sang along with them the entire evening. Natalie made an announcement that they were going to do a song which they are banned from playing in the States. I couldn't hear the name of it, but it was a Bob Dylan type protest song. They started to sing it and everyone was cheering and clapping for them. The house lights were turned on to show the Chicks that they were receiving a standing ovation from the crowd. When they were finished, Natalie said that they were very touched and should play here more often. Everyone stood up and applauded again.
I would have to say that this was the most amazing concert I've been to for a long time. In my opinion they were even better than Cher! I got a notification from Pollstar the other day, after the concert, and it stated that the Chicks had added 2 more concert dates in Canada. I hope that it was because of the great reception they received from us Vancouverites.
Even though my ears were still having a hard time hearing when I left the stadium, (I was sitting in row 8 center, right by the stage extension) I could not think about anything more amazing than this concert. It actually brought tears to my eyes. I do hope that the Chicks do consider coming back to Vancouver in the future, as they will always be welcomed with open arms.

This was a show that we won tickets to on the radio (KHAY!). It was being taped for a special to be on tv later on this fall. It was held at the beautiful new Kodak Theatre on the corner of Hollywood and Highland, the new home of the Oscars awards ceremony. The doors were supposed to be closed at 7pm promptly, and the show was supposed to start at 7:30, but as usual with tv tapings, this ran late.
The Chicks finally took the stage just before 8:30. The first thing I noticed was Emily's belly! She had a beautiful long black dress on and she looked great! Her baby is going to be so musical with that banjo playing against her every night! Natalie's hair was longer and curly. Martie looked tall, thin and pretty. All three of them looked great and happy. Someone yelled out "Happy Birthday, Emily!" and Natalie said that Emily would be turning the "big 3-0" the next day!
They told us they were going to play their new album start to finish, in order! They opened with a familiar tune, Long Time Gone. The next song was a Stevie Nicks-penned tune, Landslide. Natalie said it hit home with her when she turned 27 and found out later that Stevie had written it when she was 27. They did an awesome job on that song! Next was Travelin' Soldier written by Emily's brother-in-law, Bruce Robison. Truth No. 2 was written by their Fly opening act, Patty Griffin. Patty had recorded it on one of her albums that never got released. Sad for her, but "lucky for us" as Natalie put it. The next song was inspired by Martie and her marriage to Gareth (who was in the audience). Called White Trash Wedding, it was very funny. "You can't afford no ring and I shouldn't be wearing white" were some of the lyrics. The next four songs were very pretty, A Home, More Love and I Believe In Love, which they played on a Sept. 11th concert, and Tortured, Tangled Hearts. The next song was an instrumental and it was great!! Called Lil' Jack Slade after Natalie's son with hubby Adrian Pasdar, because "Jack got his musical influences early" according to Martie. Godspeed (Sweet Dreams) was written by a father whose son was moving to another country with his mother. He wanted his son to have something to listen to every night before he went to bed and think of him. It was a very touching, moving song. For the last song of the album, Top of the World, they had a whole orchestra move in behind them. This song was written by Natalie, Martie and Marty Stuart. It was beautiful.
Natalie had said if we were a "good audience" they would play some old Dixie Chicks standards, and they did! Before Goodbye Earl, she said "I don't think we'll EVER get tired of killing this guy off!". They played Wide Open Spaces, and Natalie messed up on one line of lyrics, which she joked about later. They played a few more songs and were done. They introduced the band earlier which included Natalie's famous father, Lloyd Maines. It was a great, acoustic show that really made me really look forward to the release of the new album.

When I went to the Dixie Chicks concert in Houston with a few of my friends, we had no idea how cool their show was going to be. Their show was better than some rock concerts I've been to and everyone was completely blown away. These women are amazing because they sing with such intensity and feeling and you would think that it is the first night of their tour. And to top it all off, Natalie was very pregnant and it was one of the last dates before the tour was over, but that did not change anything. I was very impressed with Natalie because I know that very few pregnant women could go onstage and put on an awesome show the way she did. I also enjoyed Emily and Martie when they played their blue-grass music. This concert was phenominal and I wish that I could have seen then when they were here in August but tickets sold out right away. If they come back to Houston, I would be willing to pay alot to see them again. There is not another band like the Dixie Chicks and I respect them so much because they write their music and play their own instruments and when you go to their show, the performance speaks for itself. These women put on a show that I will always remember and I had a great time! The Chicks Rock !!!!

I had the pleasure of seeing the Cleveland Fly tour show on Friday, November 10th. I have to say that it was the best concert I have ever seen! The Chicks were amazing this is my 3rd time seeing them perform live and it was the absolute best! They sang for 2 hours! Which is amazing for any artist to do! They way they interacted with the audience was absolutely fantastic. The slide show that they did was hilarious. The crowd that they performed for was awesome as well. I've never been to a concert that the audience was so into it before. It was definitely worth the money I spent for a ticket. It was the best concert I've ever seen. They are even better live than recorded. Their voices fit so well together. I loved when Martie and Emily jammed together with their instruments during one of their old instrumental songs. They were absolutely adorable and I'd pay double to see them again! I can't wait for them to hit Cleveland once more. It's definitely a concert I'll never forget! IT ROCKED!! I advise all of you to go see them live if u can!
