Catch Gus in his daddy's latest music video "Photograph". Gus makes an appearance along with photos of the family. July 2005 Songs that Gus like lately are "Head, Shoulders, Knees & Toes" and "Itzy, Bitzy Spider". -- On a February 2004 family trip to Mexico: Gus is just so happy to be able to run around naked and swim. He started walking around his first birthday in November and hasn’t stopped moving since. Nothing is more pure and wonderful than little naked baby buns running on the beach! -- The Chicks had played two dates in Las Vegas, so they had a party after the show on the first night, and Emily said there were all kinds of people there, including some Vegas showgirls in full costume. She said her 8-month-old son Gus was there and they posed him in between two showgirls. He was staring back and forth at them. Emily kidded the showgirls had some assets that she didn't have. She then said to Gus, "Just remember, Gus, what goes on in Vegas, STAYS in Vegas." ~ Emily has said that Charlie has German/American roots and wanted to name Gus "Otto Balthasar." Of course, that didn't happen. ~ Emily found out that she was pregnant with Gus when she was in Belfast, Northern Ireland. Gus and Slade are fans of Dora The Explorer and they went and saw the show in Phoenix. They danced and sang the whole time. Gus is a whopping 26 lbs. at 9 months old (big daddy!) and he loves to dance. Put on a funky beat and he will dance like nobody’s watching. You might have seen him on the side of the stage with the big earphones on, clapping to the fast Bluegrass songs. It’s kind of scary how rhythmic he is. - DixieChicks.com 08.21.03 ~ Robison joked that the backstage refrigerator is filled with baby formula and not beer, much to the displeasure of their backing band. South Jersey News [The Laporte Herald Argus (Indiana)] When banjo and dobro player Robison gave birth to her first child, Charles Augustus, last month the other Chicks were in the delivery room. Sounding a bit tired, but still elated the day after the birth, Maines says, "It was wonderful. I was the black-and-white photographer, and Martie had the video camera. Emily is good. We just left her room." "Charlie and Emily had their baby on Monday night and the whole family was there. It was so special! Gus is a beautiful boy." - Kelly Willis - Thursday, Nov. 14, 2002 11.11.02 Emily and Charlie are now proud parents! On Monday, Charles Augustus "Gus" Robison was born in San Antonio at 10:06PM. He is 8 pounds, 13 ounces, and 21 inches. The family is doing fine and will now spend time off to experience parenting. Charlie and Emily have picked the name for their upcoming baby. The middle name is Augustus and the baby will probably be called Gus. They picked Augustus for the middle name after their favorite character on "Lonesome Dove." Emily said in an interview, "I said, 'Charlie, our son better not be called Chuck.' And he goes, 'Don't worry — I never had any problem with anybody calling me Chuck twice."08.26.02 -- “My due date is Nov. 14,” notes Emily. “We’re having a boy. Most likely his first name will be Charles, after Charlie,” referring to her singer/songwriter hubby, Charlie Robison. “But we could call him by his middle name, which we haven’t decided yet.” Emily has decided about the new nursery. “We’re remodeling our home and the nursery is being worked on right now. I’m excited about it, and I’m waiting on my nursery furniture.” Her pregnancy has gone very well. “Even so, it’s a roller-coaster ride,” she confides. “You go through periods of testing, which are nerve-racking. But he’s healthy, so I just say my prayers every day.” Country Weekly |
