AMERICA: A TRIBUTE TO HEROES a two-hour live, commercial-free, simulcast to raise funds for a long-term relief effort for Americans who have directly suffered from last week's terrorist attacks, will air Friday, September 21, 9:00 p.m. - 11:00 p.m. (Eastern/Pacific), 8:00 p.m. - 10:00 p.m. (Central) and 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. (Mountain). It will also be webcast live on the internet at http://www.tributetoheroes.org.
In an unprecedented cooperative and collaborative effort, ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX will present "America: A Tribute to Heroes," a live two hour, commercial-free, simulcast bringing the American family together to salute the Americans who have directly suffered from this heinous assault on humanity. Among the artists participating are the CMA's reigning Entertainer of the Year, The Dixie Chicks.
“We are participating in this event because, like everyone else, we want and need to do whatever we can to help," the Dixie Chicks said in a statement. "It’s easy and important to send money, but something inside just makes you want to do more. This tribute telethon is a great opportunity to help raise millions of dollars, say thanks to the men and women who put their lives on the line for us and to be a part of this amazing coming together of our nation.” |
